The High Jump collects Elizabeth Knox’s three autobiographical novellas a into one volume. Each novella opens a window, at three yearly intervals – 1966, 1969 and 1973 – on the Keene family, focusing on the middle child, Lex, who is seven in Pomare, ten in Paremata, and thirteen in Tawa.
